“ Anita Gelato has a crazy long line at almost every hour of the day, thanks to its delicious flavors and of course to the bustling stadium and stations nearby. They actually allow you to try all the flavors if you wish, but you do get some cheeky stares from the rest of the patrons because you would hold up the line. I still recommend it because there are so many flavors to choose from! It was my first time so I had no idea what to pick otherwise. It is so brightly lit inside, but they slightly discourage sitting there as the amount of tables and chairs do not really fill up the space at all. However, it sort of makes sense because there is an outside plaza area. ”
“ Oh God these people are putting something in the gelato why are they having long lines in the Winter? One of my fav places to go. I love the cheesecake flavor, cookie man, and raspberry crunch idk if they still carry it though oh the white chocolate cookies and cream that's my current fav. Greatest staff on upper east side everyone is happy like Santa helpers. They play the tunes in there, real nice date closer it's less mainstream than their downtown locations. 81st street is unofficially named the Lato block ”
“ I left a 5-star review at the other location and had to do the same here because this gelato place is my favorite in the city! My top three flavor recommendations are Pavlova Mixed Berries, Cookieman, and Cheesecake & Caramel Cookies. Each one is so delicious and has its own unique twist. The Pavlova Mixed Berries is a classic berry ice cream, but it's creamy & so delicious!. The Cookieman has a great cookie-like texture with a rich chocolate swirl that's just perfect combo. And if you're a caramel lover, the Cheesecake & Caramel Cookies will be your go-to--it's absolutely a caramel lovers dream. You really can't go wrong with any of these flavors! ”
“ Even though they have expanded the space with definitely makes a nice difference it's still crowded on weekends and the line now wraps around the inside. Not a big deal laugh ad the Gelato here is worth the wait. ”
“ I love this place. I could eat the Pavlova and berries gelato every single day it is that good. This place usually always has a line, but it moves really quick. All of the Anita's are really cute inside, I love all of the decor. My favorite part though is that the staff lets you sample as many flavors as you want so that you can get the best choice for you. The staff also steered me clear of a bad choice I was going to make, gave me a sample of it, and they were totally right. ”
“ By far one of the best ice cream shops in manhattan. They have SO many flavors to choose from and although the price is high, they give a lot of quantity for even the small size. I recommend the chocolate cookies and the white chocolate. I have gone back here 3 times and always take people from out of town here! ”
“ BEST GELATO EVER!!!!!!!!! There's always a line here, but it honestly goes by pretty fast. We've waited at the corner outside and gotten in within 10 minutes. My favorite flavor is hazelnut because it reminds me of ferraro rocher but honestly i've never tasted a bad flavor (a few not amazing ones) at Anita's. I will say we had Anita's every week for over a month, that's how much I enjoyed it. We usually get the to-go box because it's more economical and honestly it freezes pretty well and tastes just as good. Best gelato you'll find in the city IMO. highly recommend. ”
“ I've heard lots of great things about this place so we stopped by for dessert after dinner. We fortunately had an earlier dinner and just beat the evening crowd, but by the time we were finishing up the line was pretty long. There are lots of flavors to choose from so it can be quite overwhelming! We got a split scoop of pistachio and pavlova and mixed berries. It's definitely pricey but I appreciate how much they load into the small cup. Both flavors were very strong and the tartness of the pavlova and mixed berries complemented the pistachio well. Haven't had enough gelato around the area to compare, but definitely a very solid spot. I'm not sure that I would be motivated enough to wait in a terribly long line, but it's a great sweet treat especially with the hot weather! ”
“ It's every single thing that they say it is plus more. It's a dream come true in every bite. Sweet indulgence on my Christmas Eve birthday... They give sample and I am positive that the line is long this time of the year but it is an absolutely MUST HAVE- Incredible gelato. All the stars... ”
